Trump Is Now Pointing His Guns at Vital Medical Research

It’s only been less than a third of his first year as POTUS, but Trump has already pulled a handful of controversial moves that’s rocked the nation’s emotions. Now he’s got his sights on medical and health research.

President Donald Trump could arguably be one of the most controversial presidents. Within his first few weeks as POTUS, he’s single-handedly shook the whole nation’s emotions with an overnight executive order and ensuing follow-up decisions regarding immigration issues. Now, one of his next targets seems to be medical and health research.

He’s proposing a budget that would cut the National Institute of Health’s funding by 20 percent – that’s $6 billion dollars! The former First Lady of Massachussetts, Ann Romney, passionately summarized the effects of this budget cut when she stated: “…There will be nothing… no new treatments… no new drug therapies, progress in medicine will come to a halt.”

Well, okay, her statements might be a little dramatic, but such a huge cut will significantly devastate medical innovation. Did you know the NIH is actually the largest global public funder of biomedical research? Their noteworthy support has led to breakthroughs in treatments for incurable diseases, longevity, and daily wellness.

It’s not just allopathic medicine either — the NIH is arguably the largest source for alternative and natural holistically healing therapies too.
